Trachtenstrip on the road
When the Trachtenstrip photographer Andi traveled through Asia in 2016, he actually carried two dirndl dresses with him in his backpack and simply asked girls on the way if he could photograph them in them!
In doing so, he then had to deal with such questions as, for example, whether one was allowed to take erotic photos on the beach on a Muslim island like Lombok, or how one approached women from foreign cultures and explained to them what one wanted from them WITHOUT becoming slapped in the face. In addition, there was also the searching and finding of suitable locations, which often required days of exploring with all kinds of motorbikes. But it also offered a wonderful opportunity to get to know the country and its people better. And then of course there was the supreme discipline: making the dirndl palatable to the girls. Because the Bavarian traditional costume is not as well known in Asia as one might initially assume based on the Oktoberfest and Co…. All of this worked surprisingly well and Andi was able to bring a whole series of wonderful pictures home with him.
Let yourself be seduced by Far Eastern beauties and open-minded backpackers from all over the world, who are wearing a dirndl for the first time ever. And of course Andi couldn’t resist one or the other experiment.
